The Hydro Graduate Program - The starting point for your Hydro career
In Hydro we have focus on hiring and developing the workforce of tomorrow. Every year we have several Graduate positions, where we are looking for young professionals early in their careers. All positions are permanent, within different business units and areas of expertise, but all graduate positions will take part in the graduate program. 
 

Graduate Electrolysis Engineer – Årdal/other plant site
Technology and Operations Support (TOS) is responsible for development, implementation and operational support to Hydro’s smelters in Norway and abroad. Hydro is world leader within aluminium production technology. In the coming years, there will be an increasing focus on implementing new technology and take part in development and optimization of Hydro’s plants to achieve an efficient, sustainable and greener operation.

 

Area of responsibility
You will take part in implementation, optimization and development of digital products and activities, including operational support and analytics, to enable high and sustainable performance of our smelters. The right candidate has interest in understanding operational challenges in order to push technology and operation further. This includes understanding of process control, optimization and operation of electrolysis cells, theoretical as well as practical.

 

Qualifications

  • Master or PhD in Cybernetics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics or similar fields
  • Programming and analytic skills
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English

 

Personal Traits

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to bring theory into practice
  • Interested in and able to combine technology development and electrolysis operation
  • Good collaboration skills 

 

Additional information
As we work in close cooperation with the plants some traveling must be expected.
