Graduate Project Engineer Electrolysis - Technology and Operation
Technology and Operations Support (TOS) is responsible for development, implementation and operational support to Hydro’s smelters in Norway and abroad. TOS has an exciting agenda, working towards achieving zero emission aluminium production, through initiatives like carbon capture & storage solutions, groundbreaking new process technology and digital solutions. The TOS unit is a highly skilled organization in Hydro with around 180 employees connected to our technology hubs in Norway and Germany, representing a wide range of technical expertise. 


Areas of responsibility
The right candidate has interest in understanding operational challenges in order to push technology and operation further. This includes understanding of process control, optimization and operation of electrolysis cells, theoretical as well as practical. You will take part in implementation, optimization and development of digital products and activities, including operational support and analytics, to enable high and sustainable performance of our smelters.

  • Master or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Cybernetics, Chemistry, Materials Science or similar fields
  • Programming and analytic skills
  • Maximum two years of full-time work experience after graduation
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English 
  • Extracurricular activities and/or voluntary work will be considered an advantage
