Senior Financial Analyst, Controlling

Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.

 

 

Role

Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for daily financial control and analysis as well as accounting activities of Global IS/IT and Financial Shared Services’ costs per job description. The role covers ensuring compliance to Corporate Accounting policy/processes and budgeting and reporting instructions.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Act as a business analyst and finance expert for the Shared Services organization
  • Be the owner of month end closing sub processes and monthly financial reporting 
  • Perform daily routine and ad-hoc accounting and analysis according to requests from Shared Services Controller or discussed work allocation
  • Contribute in developing and executing cost reduction programs for Shared Services
  • Be the day-to-day interface with Financial Shared Services functions regarding accounting on SSC Entities 
  • Support communication to SSC Management and Customers
  • Follows financial processes and procedures and monitors compliance in Shared Services (FSS, IT, HR)
  • Responsible for accuracy of financial data in ledgers and internal / externals reports. Ensure the necessary reporting to maintain financial control (Account Reconciliation, GRNI, PO-Req processing).
  • Monitor changes in Fiscal Accounting and Tax rules. Propose changes to account practice if needed. 
  • Control that accounting and other reported figures reflect the financial reality 
  • Participate in annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting including involvement in preparation of analyzing and summarizing changes as well as preparing sufficient explanations of trends and changes.
  • Contribute with expertise in projects
  • Proactively contribute to the development of the controlling team and Shared Services in general
  • Responsible to provide accounting support for Shared Services functions
  • Apply the Genesis rules and principles in the controlling area
  • Ensure to work in compliance with Hydro Quality system, HSE regulations, policies and standardized operating procedures. 
  • Perform all other tasks upon the instructions of the superior in charge which may be necessitated by the operations of the related unit and which do not conflict with any applicable laws, statutory provisions and company rules. 
  • Compliance with area-specific customer requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding the business for which the role is established.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent people skills: pleasant, persuasive, diplomatic yet authoritative, able to work with people across the organization.

 

 

Profile

  • Master or Bachelor degree in Economics / Accounting.  
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience working in finance area preferably at large multinational company.
  • Relevant knowledge and understanding of budgeting, forecasting methods, accounting rules, treatments, principles, processes, tax and other laws are essential to take this position.
  • Work experience in diverse and complex environment. 
  • Experience with regard to establishment, development and improvement of  processes and procedures.

 

The interview will be held in English.
