Human Resources Manager

Hydro Aluminium Metal a leading supplier of extrusion ingots, sheet ingots, foundry alloys, wire rods and high-purity aluminum with a global production network of around 5,000 employees. With primary metal production facilities in Europe, Canada, Australia, Brazil and Qatar, and recycling facilities throughout Europe and in the U.S., two-thirds of our primary aluminum production is based on renewable energy.

Required Education/Experience:

  • BS Degree in HR, Business or related field
  • SPHR or PHR certification is a plus
  • 5+ years progressive experience in Human Resources leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide business partnership, advisement and coaching to the leadership team and Operations Director.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, company values, and Hydro global governance documents.
  • Manage local policies and processes in order to ensure that they are fit for purpose.
  • Establish short and long term goals, Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), strategies and action plans in line with management objectives.
  • Coach, train and guide leaders during the Talent Management and Annual Compensation Planning processes.  Collect local market data to ensure competitiveness and maintain lead market position.
  • Establish proactive talent recruitment and retention strategies that result in a highly engaged workforce and enables growth opportunities.
  • Organize and lead local organizational development initiatives through Hydro system of performance and potential ratings and succession planning.  Support local leaders in performance and development discussions with their team members by sourcing internal and external training and development material as needed.
  • Monitor key organizational metrics collecting data to identify and analyze issues, offering recommendations to optimize organizational performance.
  • Administer systems for payroll, benefits administration, workers compensation, and other deployments and records maintenance for employee base.
  • Consult leaders on employee matters that require in depth knowledge of policies, procedures and local legislation.  Conduct investigations and manage employee relations cases.
  • Build relationships in the local community through programs that support Hydro’s social responsibility initiatives.
