Job Summary:

The Environmental and Sustainability Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and permits within the facility. This role focuses on air quality, wastewater, stormwater, and waste management, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Key responsibilities include managing the Title V air permit, NPDES permit, and hazardous and non-hazardous waste management. The Environmental and Sustainability Engineer will work closely with operations, maintenance, and the HSE teams to implement sustainable practices, reduce environmental impact, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and permits.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience required; 5+ years preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Certification as an Industrial Hygienist, CHHM and/or RSO is preferred.
  • Strong background in data analysis and interpretation to support decision-making.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving expertise in addressing environmental issues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain compliance with Title V air permit requirements.
  • Develop and implement Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).
  • Manage hazardous waste streams in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., RCRA).
  • Monitor wastewater discharge activities and ensure compliance with local and state wastewater permits.
  • Prepare and submit necessary regulatory reports, including environmental data, compliance reports, and permit renewals.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for reducing environmental impact, improving sustainability, and enhancing resource efficiency.
  • Investigate environmental incidents or non-compliance events and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
