Job Summary:
The Finance Analyst is responsible for the General Ledger and Month-end close and for financials statement preparation and reporting. Supports the timely reporting of daily, monthly and annual financial and operational data. The FA will gain broad exposure to financial planning, reporting and operational support, positioning them for future leadership within the finance department. Support the Controllers in the accurate and timely reporting of daily, monthly and annual financial and nonfinancial data for the Cressona PA, Montreal Canada and Mountain Top PA locations. Provide financial data and assistance to both manufacturing and the management team.This position reports directly to the Controller.
Required Education/Experience:
- Minimum of three years’ experience in similar roles preferably including experience in a Plant Operation environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field required.
- Proficient in ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Hyperion).
- Experience with manufacturing KPIs.
- Knowledge of capital expenditure tracking.
- Experience preparing financial reports, cost analysis and performance metrics.
- Strong ethics and leadership, communication, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to “think outside the box” and “on your feet.
- Fluency in English.
- Able to communicate orally and in writing effectively with Managers, supervisors, peers and subordinates.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Previous manufacturing experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Understanding of standard costing principles and variance analysis.
- Ability to perform inventory valuation, reconcile inventory accounts, and analyze inventory movements.
- Understanding of internal controls, compliance standards and support for audit processes
- Strong computer skills (e.g. Advanced Excel)
Job Responsibilities:
- Support month-end closing activities including the closing process, account reconciliations and monthly reporting requirements.
- Provide management team with customer market / cost analysis using PVelocity.
- Provide financial and manufacturing data analysis to manufacturing and administrative managers of both a recurring and ad-hoc nature.
- Help Coordinate the development of the annual business plan and early warnings.
- Ensure compliance with Hydro financial policies and procedures. Report issues to Controller if an issue were to arise.
- Maintain and monitor effective internal controls.
- Monitor spending using various analysis tools throughout the month.
- Provide financial analysis for capital spending projects and assist in the preparation of Requests for Authorizations in order to obtain approvals required for these projects.
- Assist with analysis and activities related to inventory goals and improvement of accuracy of inventory transactions.
- Provide advice to plant personnel on proper accounting treatment of financial transactions as requested.
