Shifts Available and Hours:
Training will be on dayshift. After training, this position will be nightshift from 5:50 pm- 5:50 am on a 2-2-3/ EOWEO schedule.
Job Summary:
The Lab Analyst is a role of trust and integrity driving continuous improvement in all areas of safety as well as tensile testing (TYE). This position is focused on following compliance and corporate guidelines while improving on how we deploy testing to ensure testing repeatability. Operate optical emissions spectroscopy for chemical analysis. Proper documentation, following procedures, systems processes, best practices & training are all vital to the success of the ever-growing Lab Analyst position. Following ASTM, Aluminum Association testing guidelines. Safely operate manufacturing equipment in a machine shop environment. Interpreting customers drawings, identify predominant area for tensile testing, computer entries, confides with management to understand customer requirements and/or standards.
Required Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s Degree/ technical degree preferred.
- IATF/ISO knowledge
- Compliance mindset, integrity, solid work ethic.
- Experience using gauges and other inspection techniques, reading drawings.
- Must be highly motivated and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Computer knowledge- data review & entry, understand functional software ORACLE, QTS, CIMEX, SCS, LAPS.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- 3+ years of prior manufacturing experience is desirable.
- Manufacturing quality experience a plus
Job Responsibilities:
- Safety & Compliance: Strong awareness of safety protocols, ability to follow Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and adherence to corporate and compliance guidelines.
- Technical Training & Testing: Completion of ENA TYE Level 1 training (Level 2 optional); capable of performing metallurgical tests, mechanical testing, and interpreting results per industry standards (government, military, automotive).
- Equipment Operation: Skilled in operating CNC machines, lathes, band saws, furnaces, ovens, drill and hydraulic presses, and hardness testing tools (Barcol, Webster).
- Measurement & Analysis: Proficient with micrometers, verniers, gages, conductivity meters, and optical emission spectroscopy for chemical analysis.
- Sample Preparation & Inspection: Experienced in preparing samples for tensile testing, conducting grain analysis with chemical etching, and performing visual inspections.
- Maintenance & Calibration: Conducts daily calibration checks, minor equipment repairs, and maintains lab cleanliness and equipment per daily standards.
- Team Support: Participates in training new team members and performs other duties as assigned.
- Willing to travel is a plus; <10% travel for customer visits.
