Cast House Team Lead

Summary: The Team Lead will report directly to the Cast House Manager. He/She will assist the Supervisor in mentoring, coaching and performance development of employees. They will help to achieve team metrics assigned by the Operations or Plant Manager and be held accountable for on time delivery to the next customer both internal and external. The Team Lead is also responsible for identifying and solving problems and pulling the help chain when necessary.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety protocols and lead by example
  • Accountable for shift Key Performance Indicator’s and quality of product
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings and inspections
  • Hold self and team accountable for safety, housekeeping and quality outputs.
  • Assist Supervisor in mentoring, coaching and performance development of employees.
  • Monitor and enforce press schedule conformance
  • Accountable for on time delivery to the next customer both internal and external
  • Responsible for identifying and solving problems and pulling the help chain when necessary.
  • Achieve shift metrics as assigned by the Operations or Plant Manager
  • Responsible for housekeeping and 5S in his or her respective area of work or areas as directed by the departmental manager.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned


Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Cast House process, operation of equipment, aluminum alloys and standards, use of precision instruments and customer orders and specifications.  Ability to use various systems to track, understand, report and improve on all KPIs
  • 2-3 years’ experience in the extrusion industry
  • Prior supervisory experience in an industrial plant
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, setting priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Results oriented and a desire to win
  • Must be knowledgeable and capable of responding to emergency situations
  • Understands company safety initiates and acts as facilitator on the floor to promote those initiatives



Education and Work Requirements:

  • High School Diploma preferred or equivalent experience where similar knowledge is acquired
