Metal Handler / Scrap Saw Operator

Starting Rate of pay: $16.31/hour

Shifts Available and Hours:  2nd shift

                                                 3PM to 11:30PM

Shift Premium:           2nd shift - $1.00/hour extra

Job Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety protocol. Lead by example and hold your crew accountable to do the same
• Participate in pre and post shift meetings- encourage involvement, actions, and stretches
• Maintain department housekeeping standards
• Lift extrusions onto the scrap table for cutting
• Operate the Scrap Saw
• Unload material and place in hoppers
• Operate the bander
• Ability to learn and operate a Combi lift
• Encourage a sense of urgency amongst your team without sacrificing safety or quality
• Operate various equipment (mills, punch presses, deburring wheels, benders, saws, specialty machines, turning centers, milling centers and hand tools)
• Inspect equipment daily to ensure proper safety devices are in place and notify supervision of any concerns
• Perform basic set up on equipment
• Read and interpret various gauging equipment, ranging from digital calipers, micrometers, protractors, and custom gauges
• Maintain all records on hob assignments in a correct and timely manner on paper as well as in the computer
• All other duties as assigned by Dept. Mgr. or Supervisor

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 1-3 Years Manufacturing Experience desirable; the ability to work any shift is required.
• Must have worked in non-climate-controlled work environment
• Must have ability to work at a fast pace; Be able to lift up to 130 lbs. with a partner; Maintain all of the required standards for meeting or exceeding production goals.
