PLC Automation Electrician

Starting Rate of Pay: $38.00

Shift Available and Hours: 7PM to 7AM

Shift Premium: $1 additional for working night shift

Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing and modifying PLC programs to control machinery and processes according to plant requirements. This includes writing ladder logic, function block diagrams, or structured text based on control requirements.
  • Installing new PLC hardware and maintaining existing systems. This involves troubleshooting issues, replacing faulty components, and ensuring all equipment is functioning optimally.
  • Integrating PLC systems with other automation components such as sensors, actuators, HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) for seamless operation.
  • Conducting tests and simulations to validate PLC programs and ensure they meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards. This includes conducting I/O checks, loop testing, and functional testing.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation such as wiring diagrams, system configurations, user manuals, and change logs to facilitate system understanding, troubleshooting, and future upgrades.
  • Offering technical support and assistance during production to address any automation-related issues promptly

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Technical or Engineering Degree or Equivalent 7 years’ Industrial Maintenance experience
  • Minimum five years’ experience in manufacturing facility with working knowledge of Industrial Maintenance Systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical)
  • Must be fluent in Excel, MVP and SAP
  • Minimum five years’ experience with PLC Network (Data-highway, RsLinx, Bluetooth, etc.)
  • Minimum five years’ experience with PLC, HMI and robotics controls programming (Fannuc, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.)
  • Must be able to locate and read blueprints
  • Ability to manage multiple objectives and deadlines
