Waste Treatment Technician

Shifts Available and Hours: Night shift 7PM-7AM

Shift Premium: $1.00/hour extra for shift differential

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor charts, meters, control panels and similar instruments to determine if regulators, control systems, and related equipment meet operating specification.
  • Operate gates, tanks, pumps, valves, and related equipment to control the flow and processing of industrial wastewater through settling processes to the final discharge of treated water.
  • Operate Filter Press to remove solids from the industrial wastewater.
  • Oversee the offloading of chemicals from tanker trucks to bulk storage tanks.
  • Daily inspections of scrubber system and logging of results.
  • Extract process tank samples, perform titration testing, and make chemical additions and logging of the results.
  • Generate records dealing with hazardous waste, RCRA issues, inspection reports, and other related documents.  Provide requested waste information and data to the Environmental Manager.
  • Operate D.I Water Unit for regeneration of D.I Water used in processes.
  • Perform task safely following Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Maintain house-keeping standards and participates in 5-S improvements.  

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of six (6) months manufacturing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Wastewater Operator Certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations.
  • Basic computer skills for logging and reporting.
