Job Summary: A Maintenance Planner is responsible for effectively planning and scheduling maintenance functions for crews in selected areas of the plant.  For maintaining records of all plant equipment, providing cost-effective reliability maintenance, monitoring and forecasting the maintenance budget, maintaining working relationships between Production and Maintenance departments and assisting warehouse coordinator in maintaining critical spare parts inventories.

 

Required Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED                                                   
  • Minimum of one years related experience and/or training or a combination of education and maintenance experience.

 

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (AA) preferred.
  • Competent with CMMS (Maintenance software, and Microsoft applications, i.e. Access and Project)
  • Ability to read technical documentation/drawings.
  • Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Applies predictive, proactive, and preventative measures to evaluate and monitor equipment.
  • Provides continuous improvement of plant equipment through verification of proper operation, maintenance practices, and workmanship.
  • Effectively schedules available manning (workhours) on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Analyzes and estimates cost, manning, logistics of overhauls, major projects and any of the planned work.
  • Participates with inputs in designs and equipment modifications.
  • Maximizes process capacity by interfacing with Drafting, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality Control, Purchasing, Warehousing and Operations.
  • Supports warehouse coordinator maintaining a cost-effective warehouse inventory through continuous production evaluations, analysis and cost control.
  • Works jointly with plant reliability leader in reliability-based maintenance techniques for continuously improved equipment performance, PM, PDM and maximized cost savings.
  • Handles work order processing (defines work scope, estimates job, workhours, purchases parts, schedules, initiates, follows up and closes).
  • Maintains equipment history.
  • Produces an annual overhaul schedule.
  • Assists supervisor in preparing yearly crew budgets.
  • Forecasts Maintenance budget on a period, quarterly and yearly basis.
  • Analyzes crew period and yearly expenditures and performance.
  • Calculates and develops control charting for various Maintenance costs and processes.
