Material & Parts Supervisor

Summary: The Material & Parts Supervisor will provide direction and leadership in the transformation and organization and integration of consumable supplies, parts and materials in order maintain reliable operation of the Gainesville location.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Evaluate current process & systems used to manage operating supplies, maintenance and critical spare parts
  • Establish an action plan to implement industry leading processes for inventory management & replenishment
  • Establish simplified naming convention and descriptions to improve supply/part identification
  • Ensure materials and parts are charged to the appropriate assets to provide accurate cost of ownership
  • Develop and implement a “repairable” spare parts process for rebuildable assets
  • Work to reduce the on-hand cost of inventory by leveraging “just-in-time” suppliers
  • Perform all Oracle, MVP, SAP, & SCS processes as related to material management
  • Order, inventory and maintain operating supplies, maintenance and critical spare parts
  • Ensure safety & cleanliness of facility and train team as related to job, processes, safety, etc.
  • Work with necessary teams, as needed, ensure the location has what it needs, when it’s needed
  • Handle appropriate coaching, counseling and disciplinary action involving hourly workforce
  • Schedule manpower to meet production schedule including overtime and vacations of production personnel
  • Ensure effective communication in the group: strategy, goals and actions necessary to achieve them


Job Requirements:

  • Proven success in inventory control management strategy development and implementation
  • Procurement and material management
  • Order prioritization and tracking
  • Material delivery & records management
  • Proficient in Oracle/SAP and computer literacy
  • Proficiency in MS word applications (word & excel) 


Education and Work Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, and/or equivalent experience in materials organization and management.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience
