Job Summary: The Reliability Engineer will lead efforts to ensure the reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, and facilities. The role includes supporting the maintenance team and improving maintenance efficiency to reduce costs. The Reliability Engineer will address daily maintenance challenges, ensuring optimal operational productivity and extending the economic life of plant assets.

 

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proven experience managing preventive maintenance expenditures, including budget forecasting, tracking, and cost control.
  • Proven ability to track equipment performance and reduce downtime through effective allocation of maintenance budgets and resources.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • CMRP preferred. (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional)
  • Experience in establishing training for selected electricians and mechanics by area in the predictive techniques of:
  • Vibration analysis, Thermography, Ultrasonic testing, Other predictive techniques.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance program including Overall schedule compliance of the preventive maintenance program.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, control loops, and safety/security systems.
  • Defines, develops, administers, and refines the preventive/predictive maintenance program.
  • Reduces and improves maintenance work wherever feasible; assuring efficient and productive operation of plant, process, and equipment; while protecting and prolonging the economic life of plant assets; all at the least (optimal) cost practical.
  • Provides technical advice to maintenance and proprietors.
  • Serving in a staff capacity, the function relieves maintenance supervisors and planner/schedulers of those responsibilities, which are engineering in nature.
  • Reliability engineering is dedicated to addressing day-to-day problems of the maintenance organization.
