L2 Specialist, Network Operations, GBS

Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.
 

ROLE PURPOSE:

As part of the Hydro Network Operations Team, the L2 Specialist main responsibility is the management of the

• WAN (SDWAN)
• LAN (local area network)/WLAN
• DDI services (DHCP and IP address management)
• Firewall management
• and any additional services which might be added to the future.

Additionally, participate in network related projects in the organization.

Main Responsibilities:

• Operation of corporate network / Incident and change management (2nd level support)
• Vendor management
• Manage and operate LAN (Local Area Network) of all remote Hydro sites globally
• Administration, Patch and life cycle management
• Create and maintain network documentation
• Support the team members in their daily technical questions
• Participate in internal network & security projects

Work Experience: 1-3 years’ experience in network operations in a multinational environment

experience with WAN, LAN and WLAN

Industry Experience:

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• Experience in IT Shared Services environment is preferred
•  

Education: Bsc. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related area is preferred

Licensing/Certification: CCNA certification or equivalent knowledge is required

Functional Knowledge: Strong IT technical skills proven in a multinational environment

Technical Knowledge:

• Knowledge of Cisco WLC and ISE equipments is an advantage
• Knowledge of Palo Alto equipments is an advantage
• Knowledge of Windows based DHCP system is an advantage

Language: Fluent English is a must (verbal, written)

Change Management:

• Experience with ITIL change management processes
• open minded for changes and new technologies

Customer: Management of SLA’s (Service Level Agreement)

Vendor: Management of outsourced services and consult/negotiate with service providers
