About the job

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP Support Specialist to provide functional support for our S/4HANA business applications, with a focus on Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO), modules. This role is crucial in maintaining and optimizing our SAP financial systems, delivering functional solutions in projects, and supporting junior team members.

The primary purpose of this role is to serve locations running S/4HANA as their ERP platform by:

  • Resolving incidents and problems for live S/4HANA units within the scope of SAP Services
  • Managing service and change requests
  • Ensuring stable business process continuation and driving improvements
  • Participating in moderately complex projects and assignments
  • Collaborating with developers, consultants, and architects to meet requirements
  • Delivering functional solutions in SAP projects
  • Managing assigned tickets according to SLAs, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery
  • Providing dedicated, focused support during period-end closings and critical business activities
  • Designing, configuring, testing, and training business solutions in collaboration with the solution/architect team

As a senior team member, you will also:

  • Mentor and support junior colleagues in problem-solving
  • Assume the role of incident manager, leveraging knowledge of team members' skills to efficiently assign and resolve tickets

This role requires expertise in SAP FI and CO modules, with a strong focus on functional support and solution delivery within the S/4HANA environment

Work experience required

Work experience

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a comparable role within SAP (ECC6 / S4 HANA) with hands-on application management or project organization.
  • Proven expertise in SAP FI and CO modules, with at least 5 years of focused experience in these areas.
  • Experience with Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) module is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in SAP post-go-live support in a multinational environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proven track record of successful incident management and problem-solving in SAP environments.
  • Familiarity with SAP integration points, particularly those related to financial processes and vendor management.
  • Experience in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives within SAP systems.
  • Knowledge of SAP best practices and industry standards for financial processes.
  • Familiarity with SAP Fiori and other modern SAP user interfaces is a plus.
  • Experience in working with third-party vendors for SAP support and development.

Education, specific skills & Competencies

  • IT /Business Degree or Equivalent
  • SAP certification in FI and CO modules is strongly preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of business processes related to SAP applications, particularly in financial accounting, controlling, and vendor invoice management.
  • Expert SAP knowledge with advanced configuration and troubleshooting skills in S/4HANA.
  • Proficiency in SAP Fiori and other modern SAP user interfaces.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively in a global, multicultural environment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and support requests.
  • Knowledge of basic change management procedures within IT, particularly ITIL frameworks.
  • Experience in guiding teams and stakeholders through SAP-related changes and upgrades.
  • Strong customer focus, with the ability to understand and address business needs effectively.
  • Skill in providing appropriate solutions that align with customer requirements and organizational goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in resolving complex SAP issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in creating documentation for SAP processes

Responsibilities

Functional Support

  • Resolve incidents, problems, and questions from end users
  • Educate and advise users on SAP FI and CO modules

Change Management

  • Manage service and change requests from end users
  • Discuss, challenge, and provide alternative solutions
  • Specify designs for developers or third-party vendors and test implemented changes

Project Participation

  • Contribute to business application projects, including implementations, new developments, process changes, and upgrades
  • Design, configure, and teston business solutions in collaboration with the solution/architect team

Incident Management

  • Assume the role of incident manager for the team
  • Assign and track tickets based on team members' expertise

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure stable business process continuation and drive improvements
  • Participate in code reviews and collaborate with developers, consultants, and architects
  • Provide dedicated support during critical business activities, including period-end closing
  • Mentor junior team members and support their problem-solving skills development
  • Work in compliance with Hydro Quality system, HSE regulations, policies, and standardized operating procedures
  • Adhere to best practices for support and area-specific customer requirements

    Note- The person on the position will work for US time zone.
