ROLE PURPOSE:

 

SAP S/4 HANA is the new selected strategic ERP system of Hydro Extruded Solutions, which is rolled out continuously within the business area. The application runs from the SAP cloud, called HANA Enterprise Cloud (HEC). The technical operation efforts and basis support are delivered in strong collaboration between SAP HEC team and HES SAP cloud operation team.

 

The role covers the operational activities on ERP platforms (majority of it in SAP HANA, with much less emphasis on Oracle, MS DAX) and responsible of the ERP solutions’ availability, integrity, performance, security, maintenance. As the SAP Solution is running on cloud, the role also involves 3rd party management activities (with SAP and IBM as selected cloud service providers).

 

This role grants various opportunity to support and deliver technical solutions in SAP systems, possibility to work together with integration experts, functional consultants and cooperate with our service providers’ representatives. This role also has a key part in the Solution Manager implementation, with emphasis on CHARM management, wave imports, monitoring solutions (jobs, interfaces, business processes).

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Working on BASIS related issues as per business priorities
  • Ensure the technical aspects of SAP solution are in line with best practices (printer management, integrations, batch queue management, transport management)
  • Disaster recovery planning
  • Ensure the SAP installation meets compliance requirements (Security, Authorization, Change management)
  • Act as hands-on System administrator (system monitoring, transport, environment management)
  • Execute technical issue troubleshooting and resolution – involving and driving SAP support (3rd party management)
  • Participate in project deployment like SAP implementation, upgrade, migration rollout.
  • Act as a BASIS / technical focal point for rollout projects, ensuring continuous alignments with project representatives to align on their demands
  • Participate and support the creation of deployment planning.
  • Drive the planning of technical upgrades alongside all systems in collaboration with the Release Management (as the Release Calendar includes the technical activities also)
  • Work together with FI, MM, SD, functional consultants, integration experts and ABAP developers
  • Align with SAP on outages and security notes implementations. Support the communication process regarding the outages
  • Attend on scheduled service calls and reviews with service providers
  • Improvement and maintenance on service processes, tools and system documentation
  • Act as SOLMAN IS Operator, responsible for scheduled imports
  • Support the implementation process of SOLMAN CHARM transport management, participate in testing and act as a focal point for local users regarding process know-how distribution
  • Act as SOLMAN Change Control Manager supporting the timely resolution of these high priority incidents.
  • Act as a technical counterpart of SOLMAN monitoring implementation project
  • Willingness to work in different shifts to cover European and US time zone support

 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

 

  • 8+ years’ experience in SAP Basis Administrator role
  • Experience with SOLMAN CHARM processes including Cross-System Object lock
  • Experience in IT Operations according to ITIL best practices
  • Experience with ERP solutions
  • Structured, analytic, problem solving oriented
  • Excellent communication skills, able to resolve multi-cultural communication gaps
  • Strong internal drive and motivation to push issue resolution and follow up properly
  • With clear goal setting, ability to work individually, making decisions within the remit of this role and use “management by exception” principle
  • Also, a good team player, recognizing those situations where sharing workload (supported by appropriate information sharing) is beneficial

 

 

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:

 

Global ERP (SAP, preferably SAP HANA) experience

 

 

EDUCATION:

 

B.Sc or M.Sc in relevant IT, Engineering or Informatics field

 

 

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:

 

  • SAP Technical certificate or equivalent experience in SAP Basis
  • ITIL foundation certificate is a must
  • ITIL advanced certificate is an advantage
  • Project management experience is an advantage

 

 

FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE:

 

Understanding of an SAP based ERP environment and infrastructure

 

 

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

 

  • SAP Basis experience
  • SAP Solution Manager experience with CHARM

 

 

LANGUAGE:

 

Fluency in English is a must

 

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

 

 Ability to plan, execute and deliver ITIL support processes within a Service desk environment for a global ERP environment.

 

CHANGE MANAGEMENT:

 

  • Technical Change Management experience as part of Shared Services, Service Management environment.
  • ITIL based process experience.

 

 

PRODUCTION:

 

Demonstrable deep understanding of Service desk and supporting ITIL Service Management processes

 

 

VENDOR:

 

Experience with 3rd party management (service provider management) is an advantage
