Functional specialist, Process control, GBS IT

Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.

Role purpose:

The Functional Specialist is the solution expert of one or more functional area/module in Process control.

Considered as the “go-to” person when detailed setup or solution design questions are to be addressed on a particular functional area.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the following tasks within the change control process:
  • Creation of the Functional Design Documentation
  • Detailed solution design
  • Test scenarios/scripts to validate the solution

• Within the Operational Support process Functional Specialist is considered as 2nd level support.

• Act as liaison with the live businesses to proactively engage with solution proposals, keep up networking within the respective functional area/module and ensure leveraging best practices
• Collaborates with the Functional Specialists and/or Solution Architects of integrated systems (ERP and MES) to ensure global template consistency and solution fits across locations.
• Supports multiple projects and BAU activities, so they are not dedicated resources for a single project.
• Reviews and supports testing of the developer code for developments in conjunction with developers and liaises and resolves faults/questions identified by the business.
• Area of responsibility: Die management, Manufacturing (press and press saw operations), Quality, ERP/MES integrations

Requirements:

• 3 years plus working with Process control / MES or variant in a hands-on environment
• Experience in operational support of Process control / MES systems
• Extensive experience with application configuration, including workflows
• Experience defining business requirements, writing functional design documentation
• Expert level understanding of Process control / MES systems, modules and underlying architecture design
• Experience integrating Process control with different MES/ERP systems, as well as working with integration tools
• Full lifecycle Process control / MES experience in manufacturing environment with specific understanding of manufacturing processes and operations
• College or University (IT /Business Degree or Equivalent)
• Expert in depth understanding of business functions. Specific knowledge of at least one of the following modules: Manufacturing (shopfloor), Quality, MES/ERP integrations
• Expert knowledge on any Process control/MES system
• Integration understanding
• Advanced knowledge of SQL (Oracle database)
• Knowledge of Power BI
• Strong spoken and written English
• Experience with working in remote, multi-culture teams
