About the job and your team
Are you passionate about innovation in manufacturing? Join our dynamic team as a Technical Specialist, where you’ll play a key role in developing and enhancing Hydro's manufacturing process control system (IMPEX) across new locations in Europe and Brazil.
As part of our global team, you’ll contribute to a system that supports 73 presses, 37 locations, and 18 countries worldwide—making a real impact on the future of sustainable manufacturing.
You will work on
• Develop & Enhance: Contribute to improvements in IMPEX and develop new modules.
• Software Development: Work with C++, C# (WPF), and Java to build and refine system functionalities.
• System Integration: Connect with ERP and Quality systems to ensure seamless data flow.
• Database Management: Administer Oracle databases, optimizing performance and security.
• PLC Connectivity: Implement OPC protocol to read and write PLC data.
• Support & Troubleshooting: Participate in BAU (Business As Usual) activities, addressing incidents and ensuring system stability.
• Training & Documentation: Assist teams with training, troubleshooting, and system-related queries.
• Reporting & Analytics: Develop insightful reports using Power BI and BIRT.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to Hydro’s Quality System, HSE regulations, and operational procedures.

Your qualifications and skills
• Good IT knowledge combined with a strong interest in manufacturing processes
• 1-3 years of experience in C++, C#, Java, Oracle databases, and SQL—preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• A Master’s, Bachelor’s, or Vocational Degree in a relevant field
• Fluent English (additional languages are a plus!)
• A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills, communication, and persistence
• Ability to handle challenges with attention to detail and a customer-oriented approach
