Shifts Available and Hours:

Onsite position

Weekly Rotating shifts, based on production schedule, as follows: 6 AM - 3 PM, 2 PM - 11 PM, 10 PM - 7 AM.

Job Summary:

The Extrusion Supervisor role involves supervising a team of unionized workers in the aluminum extrusion process, ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are met. Candidates should have experience in aluminum extrusion, and strong leadership skills. Strong communication skills and prior supervisory experience in a unionized environment are preferred, along with flexibility for overtime and working across all production schedule shifts. This role directly reports to the Extrusion Manager.

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and management
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English (both spoken and written)
  • Proficient in computer systems (experience with AS400 and AutoCAD is an asset)
  • Engineering training or equivalent experience in manufacturing or extrusion (preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in aluminum extrusion (highly preferred)
  • Willingness to work overtime as required
  • Flexibility to work all three production shifts (6 AM - 3 PM, 2 PM - 11 PM, 10 PM - 7 AM) as needed

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of the team throughout the extrusion production process
  • Supervise and lead a team of unionized workers across all shifts
  • Maintain consistent product quality throughout the extrusion process
  • Achieve production targets and operational goals using lean management principles
  • Oversee the extrusion process, ensuring optimal performance and addressing any issues that arise
  • Participate in the employee payroll process and manage shift schedules
  • Ensure compliance with the collective agreement and consistently apply its terms
  • Report daily production results, team performance, and any issues to management
  • Continuously monitor and improve production efficiency and quality
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned
