Assistant Controller - Accounting
Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.
Job Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Summary: The Assistant Controller will function as a leader in the accounting internal/ external reporting harmonization. This position will also partner with all accounting personal and related functions including month end close, internal controls and compliance, ERP (SAP) implmentations and quality assurance to drive efficiency and effectiveness with all our colleagues .
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead internal reporting process to meet HQ and BU requirements. Develop improvements in process and analytics.
- Drive process maturity (standardization, monitoring and optimiation) of reporting.
- Process expert in HQ costs and related analytics
- Lead oversight of balance sheet and related Profit/Loss Statement accounts as assigne.
- Drive Global process as necessary to create one GBS.
- Perform month end closing duties – included but not limited to location reporting, journal entry submission, account analysis, process checks, and checklist maintenance
- Drive any General Ledger KPIs to 1st quartile performance
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors
- Work directly with our sister hub in India to drive efficiency
Job Requirements:
- Experience with leadership roles and display problem solving capabilities
- Must have substantial ERP systems experience
- Excellent Excel Skill using Pivot Tables and Macros
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with employees, superiors and customers
- Strong analytical and time management skills
- Good presentation skills
Education and Work Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field
- Five+ years of accounting experience and prior management experience
