Starting Rate of pay:
$32.33 – $39.53/hour
(Rate will be $1 less during probationary period – 850 hours worked)
Shifts Available and Hours:
Biweekly rotating shifts with alternating schedules:
- Week 1: 4 days (48 hours), 12 AM – 12 PM
- Week 2: 3 days (36 hours), 12 AM – 12 PM
- Week 3: 4 days (48 hours), 12 PM – 12 AM
- Week 4: 3 days (36 hours), 12 PM – 12 AM
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment in similar functions.
- Valid Ontario Provincial Certificate of Qualifications as a Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright (433A).
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in the aluminum cast house industry is an asset.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings (hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and welding).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills in English (spoken & written).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with extrusion equipment is a strong asset.
- Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
- Solid basic math skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair cast house equipment effectively to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on all production and facility systems.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and complete work orders accurately and on time.
- Diagnose root causes of hydraulic and pneumatic issues; recommend and implement improvements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by strictly following company Health & Safety protocol.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
