Starting Rate of pay: $27.07 to $29.04 + Night shift prenium

 

Shifts Available and Hours: Continental shifts

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs all vehicle checklists and inspections prior to operating equipment;
  • Operates Mobile equipment smoothly, efficiently & safely, does not drive too fast for the condition, is aware of surroundings, pedestrians & obstructions;
  • Positioning of trailers for loading/unloading performed correctly, backed carefully into Docks, fifth wheel stand and both chocks in place.  Dolly legs rolled up completely when shunting or moving trailers, docks and trailers swept before placing another trailer. During Winters, snow needs to be cleaned from trailers before loading;
  • Trailer doors removed using Forklifts and placed in proper location;
  • Create shipping documents to release loaded trailers to drivers;
  • Enter information in cloud to update when trailers are picked up;
  • Loading/unloading of dross / material/ supplies are performed smoothly, efficiently and safely;
  • Bundles of billet/logs are placed in trailer in correct position and strapped properly. If any bundle(s) found with broken strap / wood runner, ensure to have it fixed before shift ends;
  • Stacks bundles of billet/logs/ingot in the Warehouse or Yard properly, correct height and position;  
  • Receives, weighs and stores material where appropriate in designated location in Warehouse;
  • Consults with Production Supervisor when material is being delivered to Production areas;
  • Checks weigh scale for accuracy before starting to weigh at the beginning of shift;
  • Closes dock doors during winter months and does not leave tractors idling in dock area;
  • Puts absorbal on any oil or hydraulic fluid spills and as soon as spill is absorbed, cleans it up;
  • Cleans all work areas, Tractors interiors, Yard and Warehouse, by the end of the shift. 

Experience Requirements:

  • Class AZ/DZ drivers license with at least 1 year of proven experience as a tractor-trailer driver(Mandatory)
  • Presentation of current Driver’s Abstract and CVOR
  • Fork lift operator’s license or 3 years of proven experience
  • Ability and willingness to learn all other plant mobile equipment and gantry crane, or previous proven experience. Willingness to load and offload trailers, and to work in the warehouse, as well as to drive.
  • Must be able to lift 15-20 lbs.
  • Must be willing to adjust shift schedule to cover for vacations and absences, when given reasonable notice
