Innovation and Technology Precision Tubing (I&T PT) is seeking a Data Scientist to enhance our R&D organization. This role offers the chance to shape the future of aluminium products, deepen your understanding of industrial manufacturing processes, and collaborate across various disciplines within PT and other Hydro business areas.
The I&T PT team consists of 22 highly skilled and creative researchers and lab personnel. We develop new aluminium extrusion products and alloys and improve internal processes in collaboration with both internal and external customers. A new focus area is delivering value from Digitalization, including hybrid Digital Twins, generative AI tools, sensor technology with AI capabilities, and advanced data analytics.

You will work on
As a data scientist, you will:
• Identify opportunities and develop solutions to better utilize collected data using statistics, coding, and AI tools.
• Contribute to other digital development activities as required.
• Be involved in testing and validation both from the office and in our manufacturing plants.
• Participate in collaboration projects with universities and research institutes.
Responsibilities

Your qualifications and skills
• 1-5 years of experience (new graduates welcome)
• MSc/PhD in mathematics, physics, material sciences, or similar
• Proficiency in machine learning, data modeling, and databases
• Skilled in Python or R, data visualization, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake)
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, Git, Confluence, JIRA
• Fluent in English. A Scandinavian or another additional language is an advantage.
