Extra-Financial Reporting Specialist

Corporate Center in Hydro is mainly located at Vækerø and has around 260 employees within the areas of Finance, People & Safety, Legal and Compliance, Communication & Public Affairs and Corporate Development.


Extra-Financial Reporting is responsible for Hydro’s statutory and voluntary reporting related to environmental, social and governance (ESG) topics. It is part of Group Sustainability and collaborates extensively with all business areas and corporate staffs. The department is also in close contact with socially responsible investment analysts, mainly in Europe and USA.

Hydro published its first environmental report in 1989 and is highly respected for its extra-financial reporting.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Data collection and coordination of extra-financial information for Hydro’s statutory reporting and voluntary reporting commitments, e.g. annual reports, Global Reporting Initiative, UN Global Compact and industry associations
  • Data collection and coordination of data requested by financial analysts, media and other important stakeholders
  • Analysis of applicable data
  • Content development and update of various communication channels, including intranet and web
  • Contribute to further development of Hydro’s extra-financial reporting
  • Administrator of Hydro’s extra-financial reporting system
  • Contribute to various reporting tasks and related activities within Group Sustainability and across Hydro



  • Master’s degree in a relevant area (e.g. engineering, economics or political sciences)
  • 3-5 years’ experience from at least two relevant areas (assurance, HSE, CSR, corporate governance or sustainability reporting)
  • General understanding of and interest in additional areas (assurance, HSE, CSR, corporate governance or sustainability reporting)
  • Excellent IT skills, in particular Excel and Power BI as well as knowledge of system administration
  • Experience from project management is an advantage
  • Proven quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Precise, flexible and a team-player, able to cope with high workloads in periods
  • Excellent writing skills in English and Norwegian
  • Knowledge of Portuguese is an advantage
