The position

Recycling is a high-growth area for the future, fitting perfectly with the megatrend towards a circular, more sustainable and low-carbon economy. In Hydro, recycling is a strategic growth pillar with ambitious targets for the use of “end of life scrap” (Post Consumer Scrap) in our production of low-carbon aluminium products (green high-quality products). The business unit Recycling operates eight recycling plants and scrap sorting plants in the US and Europe. We support Hydro’s Recycling casthouses to achieve their goals within HSE, quality and productivity and execute on Hydro’s Recycling growth strategy, in Europe and US.

 

We are now looking for a Graduate who enjoy working with operational and growth projects and enjoy meeting new people in different countries and cultures.

Key responsibilities

  • Support and implementation of digital systems and platforms, and use data to analyze and improve operations 
  • Support material management and scrap optimization activities
  • Support sorting plants with performance and product specification
  • Standardize of common practices in HSE, quality, reliability, production and material management
  • Contribute to improving asset reliability and performance
  • Support growth related projects
  • Participate in performance audits in casthouses
  • Possible secondments to casthouses, also internationally

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Cybernetics, Materials Science or Engineering (or other relevant field of study) with solid academic achievements. 
  • A maximum of two years of full-time work experience after graduation. 
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, with a preference for proficiency in a Scandinavian language. 
  • Extracurricular activities and volunteer work will be considered advantageous.
