HR Specialist, Global Mobility

The large HR community in Hydro consists of three specialized areas: Group HR, HR Business Partners and Global Business Services (GBS). Global Business Services is the main contact for Hydro’s employees and line managers to handle operational and specialized HR requests.

We are now looking for an HR professional to join the team providing services within Global Mobility, as part of Global Business Services. The team has a global scope and administers all international assignments within the company. This amounts to around 100 employees of various nationalities, assigned between more than 20 countries, yearly.

In addition to expatriate management, the team plays an increasingly important part in supporting the business areas adapting to new global workforce trends. This includes advice and support on cross border matters such as short-term business travels, workplace mobility and an increasing number of international local transfers.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to provide international operational support in an organization where your field of expertise is increasingly needed to meet business needs!


Areas of Responsibility
You will support different business areas, assisting employees and business units with processes, legal issues and obligations linked to international assignments and other cross border transfers. 

Your main tasks are:

  • Daily expatriate management, including assignment agreements, salary calculations, information meetings with assignees, insurance and social security membership, repatriation, support and follow-up of billing, invoicing and accounting
  • Vendor management in fields such as relocation, insurance, pension, tax, immigration
  • Provide advice and recommendations to business areas, managers and assignees regarding mobility and associated issues
  • Secure compliance with regulations and policies
  • Contribute to continous improvements and standardization through operational support
  • Cooperate with and provide input to Group HR on developing corporate global mobility policies



  • University degree, ideally within HR, economics, or business administration
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience, either as an expert or HR generalist
  • Proven ability to engage with customers, communicate with diverse stakeholders, and provide sound and efficient advice
  • Strong verbal, numerical, and information handling skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills are a requirement, experience with SAP is an advantage
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Norwegian


To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate a structured and solution-oriented approach, combining attention to detail with delivering results. You are friendly, have strong interpersonal skills, and thrive with managing a variety of cases in a fast-paced and international environment.
