Internal Control Manager, Norsk Hydro

We are looking for an Internal Control Manager to join our team in Group Accounting and Reporting (GAR).

GAR is responsible for safeguarding Hydro’s financial and ESG (environmental, social and governance) reporting and facilitating continuous improvement and development of Hydro’s reporting.

About the job and your team

You will be part of a professional Internal Control network in our global organization, working to lift and develop the effectiveness and efficiency of Hydro’s reporting and internal controls.

 

The position offers a high degree of autonomy to influence change and drive improvements, and you will have a central role in maintaining and further developing Hydro’s internal control over financial and sustainability reporting (ICSR).

You will work on

  • Contribute to shaping the future of Hydro’s internal control over reporting. 
  • Increase Hydro’s internal control maturity in ESG (sustainability) reporting. 
  • Promote and drive Hydro’s improvement agenda and represent Internal Control in projects in the finance and sustainability network. 
  • Evaluate sources of reporting risk and errors in Hydro’s reporting processes. 
  • Close collaboration with finance teams to ensure risk mitigation and quality reporting. 
  • Act as point of contact and support for the organization in internal control related matters. 
  • Coordinate and support the yearly Internal Control Forum and other competence activities. 
  • Perform monitoring activities according to Global Monitoring Plan.

Your qualifications and skills

To thrive and succeed in the role as Internal Control Manager, we believe the right candidate holds the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Engineering with Sustainability focus). 
  • 5 years’ working experience in auditing and/or finance organization, experience from international listed company is an advantage.  
  • Demonstrate experience in internal control activities within large international corporations. 
  • Proven capabilities as a project manager, highlighting your ability to navigate and lead in dynamic environments. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools, with a bonus for familiarity with reporting applications.  
  • A strong command of written and spoken English is essential, while knowledge of Norwegian or Portuguese is advantageous.

You are an eager learner that excels at interpreting new requirements into practical tasks. You manage to assess and prioritize your time well, solving challenges and issues proactively, being hands-on while seeing the big picture.

You successfully build relationships within different parts of an organization and are well experienced with a cross-cultural environment.

We are looking for a person with a positive mindset and attitude, who can act as a change agent to facilitate our improvement initiatives!

The position will report to Head of Internal Control.
