Continuous Improvement Manager - Fabrication Plant

Job Summary: Directs and coordinates activities of aluminum manufacturing operations to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

 

 

Required Education/Experience:

  • A degree in Business Management; or at least ten years related experience and/or training.
  • A background in manufacturing including extrusion and process control.  Must be able to direct personnel and motivate all levels of employees. 

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Strong interpersonal skills required as well as the ability to access variety of production methods to aid and direct improvement and training.
  • Knowledge of ISO/QS standards
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Champions business and performance improvement by building a continuous improvement culture and driving change throughout the organization.
  • Assists in selection and training of teams and individuals to achieve continuous improvement goals.
  • Identifies opportunities for Kaizen events and lean activities that will lead to achievement of business goals.
  • Proactively identifies and removes organizational barriers to the continuous improvement process.
  • Provides coordination and direction to CI resources ensuring continuous improvement goals are achieved.
  • Drives the development of metrics across the site to achieve alignment and engage teams to deliver and continuously improve performance.
    Coordinates the development of a future-state business vision and align projects and activities to achieve that vision.
  • Creates the road map and deploys all aspects of continuous improvement into the business across all functions to ensure the organization evolves to a lean production system.
