Job Summary:
This position will lead a team of PLC technicians and collaborate with all levels of management. The primary responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting controls for both existing and new equipment. Additionally, this role will support the management of integrators for new business initiatives.
Required Education/Experience:
- HSD or GED.
- Minimum of five years of electrical controls experience.
- Minimum of two years of leadership experience.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical technology or engineering.
- Certification in Allen-Bradley PLCs (RS Logix / Studio 5000).
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain PLC systems by ensuring backups of all programs are available and spare parts are stocked for existing systems.
- Work with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot instrument and PLC issues to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Collaborate with engineering personnel to determine routine changes to PLC and HMI programming.
- Work with maintenance technicians to support projects involving PLCs by overseeing contractors and/or independently writing PLC and HMI programs.
- Work with maintenance technicians to maintain and service electrical systems, including motors, air compressors, pumps, and AC/DC drives, diagnosing and resolving issues as needed.
- Design, size, and install industrial electrical systems, including advanced three-phase (460V and higher) electrical configurations.
- Perform precise mathematical calculations related to weight, volume, and distance to support electrical and mechanical operations.
- Apply logical and scientific reasoning to analyze complex technical problems and interpret nonverbal data such as formulas, equations, and graphs.
