Training Coordinator

Required Education/Experience:

  • Minimum high school diploma required; College degree preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in fast-paces manufacturing environment required.



Preferred Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training.
  • Ability to read technical documents including drawings & specifications.
  • Knowledge of applicable production processes including but not limited to CNC, press, bender, welding & assembly operations strongly preferred.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
  • Ability to conduct cycle time studies to understand job sequence.
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
  • Fluency in English. Fluency in other languages is a plus.



Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Mfg. Engineering in develop of new standardize work including but not limited to Process Instruction (PI) Books, Operator Description Sheets (ODS), JSAs, Quality Alerts (QA), Mfg./Process Alerts, TPM Instructions, Non-conforming material procedure, etc.
  • Responsible for continuous on-the-job training (OJT) in all processes associated with production, quality, and safety requirements on a day-to-day basis. 
  • Develop training content for all new hires & cross training of existing employees
  • Document / track training of all employees through proficiency matrix
  • Organize & track all plant required training (HSE, Quality, Environmental, Security, etc.)
  • Assist engineering with identifying of potential failure modes (PFMEA) related to training
  • Sign-off on all new trainee training documentation
  • Work with Extrusion Business System (EBS) Manager to develop standardize work along with training content for new hires.
  • Assist HR Mentors in NEXiS new hire training classes with specific training content.
  • Assist ERP team (SAP) develop training content & roll-out for all new hires & existing team members to ensure standards are set, trained, certified & followed.
  • Facilitates delivery of training by reserving and setting up needed audiovisual equipment and training rooms; scheduling training times with attendees; preparing and distributing training aids such as handouts; and performing other related tasks.
