Weekend Superintendent

Job Summary: Organizes plant resources to ensure weekend deliverables for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost are met.

 

 

Required Education/Experience:

  • At least four years supervisory experience in fast-paces manufacturing environment highly desired.
  • High school diploma or GED required; College degree preferred.
  • Fluency in English. Fluency in other languages is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite, e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, OneDrive, OneNote.
  • Must be able to work cohesively in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and follow through to completion are required

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of applicable production processes including but not limited to CNC, press, bender, welding & assembly operations strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understands and supports the foundational operational disciplines of safety, 5S, lean manufacturing and standard work.
  • Responsible for documenting corrective actions and termination requests with administrative support
  • Responsible for tracking and communication of production deliverables
  • Inspects quality and quantity of supplies and equipment delivered to the team.
  • Monitors productivity, machinery, and the employees' work to suggest improvements in the process.
  • Ensures that the necessary equipment is available and in working order to complete job tasks.
  • Responsible for continuous on-the-job training (OJT) in all processes associated with production, quality, and safety requirements on a day-to-day basis.
  • Keeps team members informed about rules, regulations, policies, and objectives.
  • Maintains detailed and accurate work records.
  • Collaborates with the team to identify ways to improve department effectiveness; implemented ideas.
  • Resolves conflicts that arise among team members and/or other employees
  • Updates and maintains timely production and downtime data for tracking and keeps production and operations manager aware of the production area's performance, as needed/or required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
