Health, Safety, & Environmental Manager

Summary: Responsible for the planning and execution of the day to day activities of the Health, Safety & Environmental department and employees to ensure that policies are created and followed to provide a safe and healthful atmosphere within the workplace and to comply with all federal, state and local environmental & safety regulations.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees day to day operations in the HSE Department including management and development of HSE Personnel across a multiple campus operation.
  • Manages, develops and implements HSE programs and initiatives to meet regulatory requirements
  • Prepare or ensure completion of regular site EHS reports and all regulatory reports and statistics
  • Interface with regulatory agencies relative to inspections, inquiries and associated corrective action plans
  • Evaluate hazards within the facility for safety, health and environmental risks and takes appropriate action to investigate, communicate and correct known risks
  • Develops health and safety procedures and programs for all departments and monitors safety compliance to reduce associated risk
  • Develops inspections policies and establishes regular inspection schedules

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Must have demonstrated management experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to speak fluent English
  • Must be able to work cohesively in a team environment
  • Must be able to read and comprehend policies and regulations, quality management system procedures and other plant procedures
  • Must be knowledgeable in State and Federal Health, Safety and Environmental rules and regulations, i.e., OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.
  • Must be able to use computer programs and software such as MS Office, Axapta, and IMS

 

Education and Work Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science or other related field.
  • Active certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desirable.
