Job Location: Portland, OR

 

Summary: Responsible for application of high-performance coatings for aluminum products in a manufacturing/production environment.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with the Plant Supervisor the status of the department’s schedule and potential changes, inventory level, special considerations in regarding to production and any concerns as they arise
  • Inspects and starts equipment according to company standards
  • Receives training on and ensures that Environmental, Safety and Quality Control procedures and policies are strictly adhered to per established company standards and guidelines
  • Applies high-performance aluminum extrusion coatings using electrostatic spray systems (spray gun or reciprocator)
  • Conducts in-process quality inspections
  • Monitors paint application and curing process and adjusts as needed
  • Conducts minor maintenance work to repair leaks and troubleshoot other problems
  • Communicates and exchanges feedback with quality control, pre-treatment, racking, and packing teams

 

Job Requirements:

  • Handles various types’ hazardous materials, specifically painted related wastes and putting those waste into appropriate containers.
  • Removes full drums of Hazardous/Non-Hazardous Waste from each department’s storage area and ensure each drum is properly filled, sealed, and labeled.
  • Responsible for ensuring containers of hazardous waste meet Department of Transportation requirements for hazardous material shipping.
  • Responsible for signing hazardous waste manifests.
  • Handles various types’ hazardous materials, including hazardous and universal wastes and putting those waste into appropriate containers.
  • Responsible for proper handling and management of universal waste such as empty aerosol cans.

 

Education and Work Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have previous training or experience with chemical pre-treatment process, electrostatic paint application, paint viscosity and temperature
  • Requires basic computer skills to look up orders and profile drawings in Microsoft Dynamics AX software
  • Must be able to wear respirator
