Region Project Engineer - Remote

Job Summary:

The Region Project Engineer (RPE) manages the successful implementation of equipment and facility improvements according to company specifications while ensuring alignment and approval from stakeholders. S/he assists in the development of the annual capital investment plan.  The RPE provides technical support, leadership, and accountability for the execution of capital projects.



Required Education/Experience: 

  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience managing projects in heavy manufacturing industry.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.



Preferred Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Project Management Certification preferred
  • Ability to perform in-depth equipment evaluations and due diligence (i.e. permit requirements, and environmental, physical or materials characteristics), and assess facilities against current construction standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the installation of critical machinery and equipment in a 24/7 environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of all key architecture, engineering, and construction management principles; Strong working knowledge of utility services, and plumbing, mechanical and electrical trades as it relates to buildings and aluminium extrusion equipment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in quantifying project impact estimations (monetized and KPI based) and measures results against budgeted values.
  • Proficient written and verbal articulation.
  • Prior maintenance supervisory or plant engineering experience in a 24/7 operation.



Job Responsibilities: 

  • Designs and executes large and/or strategic projects in line with overall business area and plant strategies including planning, design, implementation, installation, commissioning and qualification.
  • Communicates requirements, specifications, project schedule, and budget constraints to cross-functional teams, including engineers, senior management and vendors. Develop status reports, including project financials, ensuring the project team is meeting internal requirements and measuring cost controls.
  • Maintains strong vendor and regulatory relationships.
  • Provides planning, administrative, budgetary, and direct supervision to assigned capital projects by coordinating contractors, internal staff, and vendors on the plan development.
  • Assesses causes of problems and provides technical support and direction to project team to resolve issues.
  • 75% Travel required.
