Job Summary:

Responsible for the planning and execution of the day-to-day activities of the Health, Safety & Environmental department and employees to ensure policies are created and followed to provide a safe and healthful atmosphere within the workplace and to comply with all federal, state and local environmental regulations.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years environmental compliance experience in manufacturing operations

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail and focus on quality work product
  • Problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Operation, calibration, and maintenance of environmental testing or sampling equipment
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in other languages is a plus, i.e., Spanish, Vietnamese, Burmese

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to hazardous waste management, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous materials management, air quality, etc.
  • Assist in developing and communicating internal and external environmental policies and programs to all departments
  • Produce and maintain required regulatory reports, data, and permit applications
  • Facilitate accurate, timely and efficient preparation of compliance reports and plans
  • Provide technical support, advice, troubleshooting for environmental regulations (air, water, waste, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements
  • Conduct sampling, monitoring, and inspections as required by permit and/or regulations
  • Perform environmental monitoring, recordkeeping and reporting related to environmental management systems and permits
