Summary:   Must be able to perform multiple functions throughout the shift, to provide manufacturing with enough extruded material.  Ability to independently as well as within his/her team.  Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled facility where environmental changes are impacted based on open-air.  Must be able to perform multiple duties to set up, adjust, and operate an aluminum extrusion press, as well as other essential duties listed below

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to understand and read production schedules, orders, prints and other specifications including verification of aluminum alloy, length of billet, understand and set heat controls all in English
  • Operate the press utilizing multi-operational control panels in proper sequence
  • Ability to adjust press, including peripheral equipment used to set-up product layout guides, tooling, set and adjust parameters to ensure the material meets customers specs.
  • Perform or assist with any departmental operations, as required or directed to maintain workflow and/or respond to emergency conditions. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Assist in the process examination and quality documentation to determine any material or product issues.  Participate in root cause analysis including solution recommendations
  • Assist in Press Equipment validations, safety and quality audits.
  • Able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment. Hot in the Summer, cold in the Winter.
  • Able to work in a team environment reacting to production conditions and routinely changing job functions.
  • Must be able to work overtime including weekends, as posted.
  • Able to keep up with normal production requirements while using proper body mechanics and working in a safe manner.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures with strict adherence to HSE and Quality.
  • Openings on 1st and 2nd shift 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers, including decimals and fractions, calculator’s available.
  • Must have working knowledge and ability to use measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers and heat probes, interpretation is required.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend in English
  • Reference materials such as production orders, prints and other specifications are in English
  • Ability to exercise judgment to set up, adjust and operate an aluminum extrusion press
  • Must be able to safely operate forklift and/or overhead crane 
  • Must have excellent mental and visual attention to monitor extrusion operations which requires constant alertness and/or activity.
  • Basic proficiency in computers.
  • Must have use of hands to finger: feel and reach with hands or arms, requiring repetitive motion and close visual acuity.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and occasional lift or move up to 50 Ibs

 

Education and Work Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Prior manufacturing experience is preferred
