Benefits Analyst

Job Summary: 

As a Benefits Analyst, you will play a significant role in the planning and administration of employee benefit plans, programs and policies.

 

Job Location: Rosemont, IL

Required Education/Experience: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Five (5) years with Bachelors. Eight (8) years without.)
  • Related professional courses/certification (CEBS) preferred.

 

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Knowledgeable in HR and all types of benefit plans and administration, external vendor management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations impacting employee benefits, including but not limited to ADEA, COBRA, FMLA, ERISA, EGTRRA, HIPAA, ARRA.
  • Strong written communication skills including exceptional grammar and proofreading ability.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical ability
  • Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, set goals and consistently deliver timely and accurate products and services.  
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint)  
  • Working knowledge of payroll and HRIS systems
  • Experience with Workers’ Compensation adminstration

 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee implementation, transition and administration of new and current benefit programs and vendors including developing of administrative procedures, legal and compliance documents and documentation of processes, both internally and with external vendors.
  • Monitor, analyze, and research experience (claims, administrative fees, utilization by service/event) of all benefit plans.  Develop costs by plan and provide recommendations for enhancements/changes to existing programs consistent with benefit objectives and strategies
  • Develop and communicate file specifications and test plans to ensure programs and reports support the benefit plan designs and ERISA and IRS requirements. 
  • Provides technical research, plan interpretation and educational support to Regional HR representatives. Develop and deliver training, as needed.
  • Acts as liaison with banks, insurance carriers, actuaries, TPAs, record keepers and investment managers to assure proper administration of the plans.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
