Compensation Analyst

Job Summary: The Compensation Analyst assists in the analysis and administration of Hydro’s compensation programs.  The Comp Analyst will interact closely with management to facilitate compensation-related activities.

 

The position works a hybrid/flexible schedule based in the Hydro Extrusion North America Business Unit Headquarters in Rosemont, IL.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain job descriptions to ensure description accurately reflects the work being performed by incumbents. Collaborate with internal HR team and reach out to managers as needed to improve or update existing descriptions.
  • Collaborate with HR and business leaders on pay initiatives and changes including promotions, transfers, and other compensation actions.
  • Analyze pay equity issues and provide recommendations.
  • Perform job evaluations of salaried positions using Mercer’s International Position Evaluation (IPE) system and methodology.
  • Supports annual pay and incentive plan review process.
  • Participate and/or lead special compensation projects.
  • Assist with documentation of Compensation policies and practices.
  • Prepare company data for salary surveys to support the ongoing improvement of organization compensation programs and objectives.
  • Keeps apprised of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations to support company compliance.
  • Review jobs for FLSA testing and compliance initiatives.
  • Prepare and present summary reports of job and compensation analysis.
  • Develop compensation training materials and programs to educate HR Leaders, Managers and employees about company pay philosophy and compensation programs.
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned.
     

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required, or the equivalent in education and experience.
  • One to three years as a compensation analyst, required. 
  • Demonstrated work experience utilizing advanced analytical and presentation skills in support of compensation related projects.
  • Functional knowledge of compensation methodologies and pay structures.
  • Strong aptitude in data analysis and research methods.
  • Solid understanding of HR systems, job codes, and salary structures.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information.

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical, project, research, organizational and interpersonal skills with a sharp attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and HRIS systems.
  • Prior experience using SAP SuccessFactors, UKG and Mercer WIN systems a plus.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR or CCP certification preferred

 

Travel Requirements:

Rarely travels (less than 10%).
