CNC Technician - 2nd shift

Job Location: Sidney, OH

 

Summary: Operate and Set Up various equipment as instructed by the supervisor.  Responsible for producing quality pieces and operating all equipment in the safest manner possible. 

 

Compensation: 2nd shift $23.12 plus $1.00 for shift differential, after 6 months $27.88 plus $1.00 for shift differential

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Supervisor with assigning specific jobs to production personnel to meet production schedules.             
  • Instruct production personnel in proper operation of machines and/or tools required to perform assigned job duties.
  • Assist the Supervisor in cross training associates.
  • Stop production and contact the Supervisor when quality problems are detected.
  • Inform maintenance personnel and/or toolmakers when machines and/or tools break down.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area for all.  Good housekeeping is a must.
  • Exhibit a professional and positive approach at all times.
  • Must be willing to cross-train on other jobs throughout the plant, as needed.
  • Make periodic checks to ensure assembled component parts match the samples supplied by the Supervisor, or Set-Up Person.  Perform all required SPC.
  • Check the material to ensure that it is not defective.
  • Stop production and contact the Supervisor person when quality problems arise.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to read and understand blue prints.
  • Must have working knowledge of M and G codes.
  • Must be able to complete set-ups from blue prints as well as work instructions.
  • Must be able to modify existing programs.
  • Must be able to use hand tools.
  • Must have knowledge of quality measuring instruments such as height gages, calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
  • Must understand quality documents and systems.
  • Must be able to read/write small numbers and letters.  Must be able to make arithmetic calculations.
  • Must be able to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Must follow plant-wide safety procedures at all times.

 

Education and Work Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous CNC set-up experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
