Fabrication Supervisor

Job Summary: Responsible for the day to day operations of the Sidney, Ohio facility. Creates and maintains a working environment that allows parts to be manufactured for various customers and insists that parts are manufactured in a safe and timely manner while meeting the customers’ quality standards.
Required Education/Experience:
- 5+ years previous supervisor experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to make decisions based on the logical analysis of facts and alternatives and have the understanding and acceptance of those affected
- Strong knowledge of stamping, welding, assembly, machining processes highly desired
- Knowledge of employment law
- Conflict resolution skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- SAP familiarity highly desired
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Self-Starter; adaptable to change; ability to prioritize needs; professionalism and strong organizational skills
Job Responsibilities:
- Promote a safe work environment, following all safety policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership in implementing and managing the prioritization of work tasks.
- Lead team in manufacturing of quality parts to meet and/or exceed expectations.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, coaching, and developmental guidance for all employees.
- Prioritize shift assignments and available staffing/coverage to meet shift safety, quality, and efficiency goals.
- Achieve the shift metrics, as assigned by Department Manager.
- Perform regular shift meetings for communication of shift goals and results and to perform required safety training.
- Perform administrative tasks and maintain administrative records for the shift, including required production reporting, training needs and skills assessments, time and attendance, disciplinary action, performance management, and payroll forms.
- Assist in determining how many employees are needed to meet customer requirements. Interview potential new employees. Make recommendations on which candidates to hire.
- Work with maintenance and tool room personnel by scheduling times for machine and equipment repair, preventative maintenance, etc. so as not to interfere with the production schedule.
- Occasionally interact with customers, suppliers, and employees from other Hydro Extrusion plants.
