Maintenance Technician

Extruded Solutions is Hydro’s largest and most global business area. Our Business Area supplies aluminum profiles and profile-based solutions in various applications ranging from windows and furniture to cars and cruise ships. Within Extruded Solutions, we have business area staff functions based in Oslo, but we also have four core business units; Extrusion Europe, Extrusion North America, Building Systems and Precision Tubing.
 

Job Location: Sidney 

  

Summary: Works with managers, supervisors, tool room personnel, other maintenance personnel, lead people, and set-up people to maintain the grounds, building, and all equipment used in general production.   

  

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Set up and operate all maintenance equipment. 

  • Perform all electrical and mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance activities on production equipment to ensure customer shipments are met on time. 

  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on production equipment and lift trucks as directed. 

  • Ensure PM schedule is being met and all projects are completed on time by working with production and scheduling to complete jobs. 

  • Make repairs to production equipment and the building via work orders, as requested by management, supervisors, and production employees. 

  • Research and request spare parts.  

  

Job Requirements:  

  • Knowledge of robotic controls and programming is required 

  • Fanuc robotic experience preferred. 

  • Must be able to program PLC’s and/or CNC’s and have the capability to troubleshoot ladder logic. 

  • Fanuc CNC, and Allen Bradley PLC experience preferred 

  • The ability to perform electrical repairs on production equipment and the capability of working from prints and instructions when performing electrical installations and repairs required.  

  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic operated machinery, equipment, and systems preferred. 

  • Experience with VFD’s preferred. 

  • Prior experience working with various maintenance tools is required.

Education and Work Requirements:  

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent  

  • 3-5 years maintenance experience in manufacturing environment required.   

  • Technical degree or equivalent technical training is required 

  

Compensation

  • 2nd Shift - $24.55/hr to start plus $1.00 shift differential.  Increase to $30.77 after 6 months.
