Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all activities related to Material Control, Shipping, Receiving, Planning and Scheduling. This role ensures efficient supply chain operations, optimizing processes to meet organizational goals and enhance overall performance.
Required Education/Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment; *Experience must include direct exposure to OEM-style customers.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in supplier selection and development, with the ability to formulate and negotiate effective commercial strategies.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in capacity planning and production scheduling, with required expertise in SAP (SD and MM modules).
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role, demonstrating leadership of a high-performance work team.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing successful material flow concepts, approving packaging designs, planning freight routes, and implementing material handling and storage solutions.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- 4-year B.S. degree or higher in a relevant field is preferred.
- Tier I automotive experience preferred.
- Experience with SAP capacity planning.
- Proficiency in warehouse management.
- Knowledge of inventory planning.
- Expertise in production planning and scheduling.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage all shipping and receiving operations for the plant, focusing on logistics, packaging, accuracy, and data management, while negotiating freight rates and minimizing expedited shipments.
- Lead planning and scheduling activities by conducting short-term and long-term forecasting for all customers, utilizing SAP Capacity Planning to assess headcount needs for specific volumes, critically reviewing BOMs for accuracy, and ensuring over 96% on-time delivery while maintaining target inventory levels.
- Create and manage the budget for the Materials Department, including oversight of inventory-related costs, expenses, and headcount.
