Graduate 2023 - Process Engineer

In Hydro we have a focus on hiring and developing the workforce of tomorrow. Every year we have several Graduate positions, where we are looking for young professionals early in their careers.


The purpose of the program is to find new colleagues with the right skills, attitude and drive that will make them, and Hydro succeed in the future. 

 

The position
Hydro Sunndal Carbon Unit consists of three production departments; The Paste Plant produces green anode paste and forms anodes for the Baking Furnace, while the Anode Service Plant assembles the anodes to be used in the electrolysis process. The Paste Plant has newly been upgraded with new production equipment for the future. In addition, there is a project going on to invest in a new baking furnace. We are now looking for a Graduate Position with main focus on the anode production processes, to strengthen the management team with analytical competence to optimize existing and future production equipment and processes. The position will be part of a highly competent team and included in the unit management team.

Areas of responsibility

 

  • Optimize production processes with respect to energy consumption and quality 
  • Initiate and drive improvement work, participate in critical process groups
  • Monitor and follow up of raw material quality
  • Follow up of final product quality
  • Actively contribute to management team discussions

Qualifications

 

  • Master’s degree in Technology or Engineering with strong academic results, preferably within process engineering, mechanical or chemical engineering or similar
  • Maximum two years of full-time work experience after graduation
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and preferably fluency in a Scandinavian language
  • Extracurricular activities and/or voluntary work will be considered an advantage
