The purpose of the program is to find new colleagues with the right skills, attitude and drive that will make them, and Hydro succeed in the future.

The position

We support 19 of Hydro’s casthouses to achieve their goals within HSE, quality and productivity. Several of our projects are linked to Hydro’s Recycling growth strategy, in Europe and US. A close cooperation with locale engineers and experts is important for success in our projects. We are now looking for a Graduate who enjoy working with operational projects and enjoy meeting new people in different countries and cultures.


Areas of responsibility

  • Contribute to problem-solving and improvement initiatives
  • Support cross functional learning between the casthouses around the world
  • Participate in and develop performance audits in casthouses
  • Support Hydro’s commercial strategy and implementation of new products for customers
  • Use data to analyze and improve operation
  • Contact and cooperate with Hydro's technology department
  • Secondments to casthouses, also internationally

  • Master’s degree within Materials Science, Metallurgy or similar 
  • Maximum two years of full-time work experience after graduation
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and preferably fluency in a Scandinavian language
  • Extracurricular activities and/or voluntary work will be considered an advantage


Some key elements of your structured onboarding during the initial 12 months are: 

  • Thorough introduction program and follow-up 
  • Onboarding sessions as well as local trainings and seminars 
  • Social and professional gatherings with involvement from management in Hydro   
  • Dedicated buddy/mentor throughout the program 
  • Unique opportunity to build network and social ties across the organization

The position is located in one of Hydro’s plants in Norway.
