The position
The position will contribute to Hydro’s ambitious automotive and decarbonization strategy. Your role will play a significant part in the work with continuous improvements and helping the casthouses reaching their goals. In the first 2 years you will be working 50% of your time with projects across the different casthouses. The rest of the time will be focused on improvement project in your local casthouse. There are also possibilities for shorter or longer work assignment at other locations in Europe or USA.
Areas of responsibility
• Contribute to problem-solving and improvement initiatives
• Support cross functional learning between the casthouses
• Support Hydro’s commercial strategy and implementation of new products for customers
• Use data to analyze and improve operation
• Contact and cooperate with Hydro's technology departments

Qualifications
• A Master's degree within Materials Science, Metallurgy or similar with good academic achievements
• A maximum of two years of full-time work experience after graduation.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English, with a preference for proficiency in a Scandinavian language.
• Extracurricular activities and volunteer work will be considered advantageous.

The position is scheduled to start by fall 2025 and is based in one of Hydro’s plants in Norway: Sunndal, Årdal, Høyanger, Husnes or Karmøy.
