The Hydro Graduate Program - The starting point for your Hydro career
In Hydro we have focus on hiring and developing the workforce of tomorrow. Every year we have several Graduate positions, where we are looking for young professionals early in their careers. All positions are permanent, within different business units and areas of expertise, but all graduate positions will take part in the graduate program. 

 

Graduate Prosessingeniør Sunndal Karbon
Hydro Sunndal Carbon produces 80.000 tons of anodes for the electrolysis process at the plant. Sunndal Carbon consist of three departments, the Paste Plant, the Baking Furnace and the Rodding department. The Paste Plant and the Baking Furnace supply 40% of the anodes needed for the electrolysis process, the rest is imported. The rodding department attaches the anodes to an anode stem using cast iron, with a total output of 200.000 units per year. The department has high ambitions and is regarded as the quality benchmark when it comes to anode quality, which is critical to ensure a stable electrolysis processes.

  • Operational optimization of the production processes
  • Improve production equipment reliability 
  • Use of Industry 4.0 tools
  • Application of digital process control systems
  • Plan, execute and lead improvement projects
  • Drive competence development across teams
  • Participate in unit management team

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree/PhD preferably within Process Technology, Production or Material Sciences
  • Good academic results
  • Good communication (written and oral) in Norwegian and English

  • A drive to develop new insights, products and processes and see these through to implementation
