BI Business Analyst

Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.
 

Role purpose

 

The Business Analyst plays a critical role in driving data-informed decisions across the Hydro ENA operations. This position will leverage strong analytical skills, business acumen, and BI expertise to translate complex data into actionable insights, contributing to strategic initiatives and operational improvements. 

The Analyst will collaborate closely with stakeholders across various departments to understand business needs, define requirements, and deliver high-quality analytical solutions

You will work on

 

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into clear and concise functional and non-functional requirements 
  • Conduct thorough analysis of existing business processes and data systems to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Document requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in a clear and comprehensive manner
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business decision-making
  • Create and deliver presentations to communicate analytical findings and concpets to key stakeholders and Agile team members
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through rigorous data validation and quality assurance processes
  • Collaborate with data engineers and developers to design and implement BI and analytics solutions
  • Provide guidance and support to end-users on the use of BI and analytics tools
  • Actively participate in agile BI development process, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and review sessions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across various departments
  • Provide training and support to end-users on the use of BI and analytics tools
  • Help to monitor post-implementation performance of business solutions, ensuring they deliver the expected outcomes

Your qualifications and skills

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, or Agile Product Owner, preferably in a BI and Analytics environment
  • Strong understanding of BI and analytics concepts, methodologies, and tools
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Experience working on Agile with Scrum based teams is a must. Work experience with JIRA is a plus
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting, knowledgeable in data warehousing and ETL processes is a plus
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector, domain knowledge in plant maintenance is a plus
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Certifications in business analysis methodologies, design thinking or other relevant business process improvement methodologies are highly desired
  • Proficient in Microsoft BI tools for the purpose of understanding and conveying the feasibility and impact of potential solutions
  • Solid understanding of cloud technologies like Azure or AWS, with a focus on how these can support business solutions
  • Being able to translate abstract concepts into actionable technical development items
  • Familiarity with new generation ERPs like S/4HANA and other SAP products is a big plus
  • Fluent English a must
  • Occassional travel
