PMO Expert
Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.
Role purpose
The PMO Expert in Hydro GBS is responsible for overall support in different PMO and Demand Management related services and areas within the PMO organization starting from the vision and ideas till the implementation and ownership of such factors.
The role focuses on project and product portfolios mainly within Hydro GBS IT, and may support Corporate and Strategic programs as well.
You will work on
- Align with GBS IT PMO organizations and within portfolios and programs assess possible needs and requirements in terms of PMO and Demand Management services
- Ensure full understanding of all aspects of PMO and Demand Management services to be able to act upon possible change requests and improvement activities
- Facilitates discussions and activities throughout PMO and Demand Management team and the supported Area PMO communities, making sure proper implementation and maintenance of functional services and changes
- Continuous quality checks on project management processes, monitor project performance reporting, information gathering and data tracking
- Support portfolio management to manage and avoid resource conflicts and project delays
- Responsible for supporting and assisting PMO and Demand Management team working on the necessary improvements and changes related the overall PMO framework, structure and modules
- Accountable to establish and maintain proper documentation within the PMO functional processes
- Identify process improvement opportunities, develop solutions, and implement them
- Ambassador of the overall view of the GBS IT PMO and Demand Management services and communicate appropriately
- Reports out on status of activities and changes within the responsible PMO area
- Process administrative requests related to to the project & portfolio management tool, resource management tool, reporting tool
- Understand challenges and potentially transform these into tool and process improvements; support tool development initiatives
Your qualifications and skills
- 5 years relevant work experience IS / IT service/program delivery of corporate or shared services organization
- Portfolio management / Project Management / Program Management experience
- Experience in PMO processes, reporting, tooling
- College or University (IT/Business Degree or Equivalent)
- Prince2, PMP, ITIL is an advantage
- Experience with Clarity PPM (or other PPM tool), ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps is an advantage
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
- Good communication and collaboration skills required
- Strong analytical skills to assess project risks, dependencies, and performance metrics
