Partner Operations Lead, Modern Workplace
Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.
Role purpose
Partner Operations Lead serves as a crucial connector between Modern Workplace agile organization and the external Operations Provider. The role ensure that outsourced operations are cost-effective, aligned with business goals, and integrated smoothly with internal processes and working model. By managing the relationship, promoting continuous improvement, maintaining high-quality service delivery, and add strategic value to both Modern Workplace organization and its agile delivery model.
Partner Operations Lead serves also as a People Manager in the Agile organization to manage people development and skill requirements.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between the organization and external vendors, ensuring strong, transparent, and effective relationships
- Organize regular meetings and reviews with vendors to discuss performance, address concerns, and explore areas for improvement
- Oversee the day-to-day operations provided by external partners, ensuring alignment with internal processes and business objectives
- Continuously monitor and evaluate vendor performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics
- Ensure that outsourced operations are delivered in line with Agile principles, supporting iterative development and feedback loops
- Identify and implement operational efficiencies to optimize the performance of external partners
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g., product, development, and support) to ensure smooth collaboration and integration with vendor services
- Handle escalations and problem-solving with vendors, ensuring issues are resolved quickly with minimal disruption to business activities
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by collecting feedback from internal teams, analyzing performance data, and working with vendors to enhance processes
- Ensure that external partners comply with organizational security standards, data privacy policies, and relevant regulatory requirements
- Maximize the user adoption and value generation, based on the defined metrics, OKRs and KPIs
- Leading, mentoring, and developing the internal team, ensuring their alignment with the organization’s goals and fostering a high-performance, collaborative work environment
- Oversee team performance, provide regular feedback, support career development, and ensure the team works effectively with external partners and vendors
Your qualifications and skills
- 5+ years of experience in operational management or vendor/partner management roles, preferably in an Agile or technology-driven organization
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field
- Agile certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster, Agile Practitioner) or Project Management certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus
- Fluent in English is mandatory. Any other language is a plus
- Ability to track and analyze operational performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ability to align vendor operations with Agile processes and values
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate expectations, feedback, and performance metrics to vendors and internal teams
- Servant-leader mindset, capable of leading cross-functional initiatives while building collaborative partnerships with vendors
- Ability to define, track, and interpret KPIs and performance metrics relevant to vendor operations
- Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities, evolving business needs, and shifts in vendor performance
- A focus on ensuring that outsourced services contribute to delivering an excellent experience
